For folks looking for extra sewing space (and who isn’t, really?), the American Cherry Craft and Sewing Cart is a lovely option. It comes in a couple of different wood-grain laminate styles: cherry or bishop pine. I’m a fan of the cherry, personally. It has a warm glow to it that would match the rest of my sewing room. Assembly isn’t too tough, but you might have to eyeball the instructions carefully before beginning.

As far as actual space is concerned, this craft and sewing cart has two main compartments and a shelf that pulls up to create a pleasantly large surface. The left compartment is perfect for stowing a standard sewing machine or serger, though you will always want to make sure to measure your sewing machine before making a purchase like this. There are also a couple of small compartments attached to the door that are useful for storing items like scissors, rulers, or glue.
The right-hand compartment has great little shelves that you can move up and down or remove depending on what you would like to stow. I like this space for small baskets of extra thread and fabric swatches.
The extra leaf on the unit is also really nice for adding work space. I love that you can fold it back down when you’re finished with a project. This would help keep any sewing room tidy. (Or at least tidier than it could be!)
Besides providing a bit of extra space in an attractive shell, this cart is great simply because it has wheels. They turn a bit, so sometimes they can get stuck at awkward angles, but really the whole unit is so easy to move around when you’re working on a big project that requires some rearranging that I wouldn’t complain too much.
Overall, the American Cherry Craft and Sewing Cart by Sauder is easy on the eyes and wallet. If you find yourself needing a little bit of extra space in your sewing area, this could be just what you need.
